Christmas is a time to connect with family and friends. While video calling offers many benefits, it can sometimes bring a little anxiety, especially if you're unfamiliar with the technology.

To help your video calls go smoothly this Christmas, follow these simple tips:

1. Set Up the Device in Advance

  • Choose and install the video calling app ahead of time.

  • Check if the app requires a login—if it does, register in advance.

  • Ensure your device’s microphone and camera are working.

2. Charge the Device

  • Make sure the device is fully charged or connected to a power source before the call.

3. Send Clear Instructions

Provide detailed instructions to your family or friends so everyone is ready:

  • Time of the call: Clearly state when it will happen

  • What to do: Explain how to join the call (e.g., “Click the green button”).

  • Share the link: Send a direct link for the call (e.g., a Zoom or Google Meet invite).

  • Explain where to find the link: If you’re sending the link via email or message, let them know where to look.

4. Test It Out Beforehand

Ahead of the festive period, arrange a short practice call to:

  • Ensure the app works as expected.

  • Test the microphone, camera, and connection.

  • Address any questions or issues in advance.

By planning ahead and testing everything before the big day, you'll make your Christmas video calls stress-free and enjoyable for everyone involved. Happy Holidays! 🎄🎅
